Coca-Cola has no time for voice mail.
The soft drink giant shut down its voice mail earlier this month to "simplify the way we work and increase productivity," according to a memo from Ed Steinike, the company's chief information officer, which was obtained by Bloomberg.
So if you call a Coke employee, a recorded message instructs you to try later or use "an alternative method" to reach that person
The company estimates it will save about $100,000 a year by cutting voice mail, though cost savings wasn't the intention, a rep told Bloomberg. The goal instead is to simplify work. Read more...
