Epson Moverio is Google Glass on steroids

2014 was a rough year for smart glasses, if Google Glass was any indication. The connected headset, which still hasn't officially been launched, suffered a lot of criticism and even more mockery. Now it looks like even Google is stepping away from the device, pending a rethought design in 2015.


Google's approach with Glass was to provide the wearer with what it called "glanceable" information, shown on a virtual screen just above the right eye. By building Glass this way, Google was making a clear statement: it's for ultra-convenient and hands-free access to very specific information (texts, headlines, traffic jams) and sharing (tweets, status updates, photos).
