Shades of the harsh winter weather that has plagued the East Coast for weeks touched down in Dallas this weekend, as ice reportedly forced the cancellation of nearly 1,000 flights at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on Saturday
The troublesome conditions at one of the United States' busiest airports comes shortly after similar weather-related travel issues at DFW earlier this week, which were caused by a separate winter storm. On Friday, 5,000 people were reportedly forced to spend the night at the airport due to cancelled flights.

With the help of his rabbi, Leonard Nimoy learned how to live long and prosper long before he became Mr. Spock.
The classic Vulcan greeting made famous by his Star Trek character was inspired by a blessing from the Jewish faith, Nimoy, who died on Friday, told the Yiddish Book Center's Wexler Oral History Project in 2014
The hand gesture is also in the shape of the Hebrew letter "shin," Nimoy explained.
"People don't realize they're blessing each other with this. It's great," Nimoy said in the video.

LOS ANGELES — Miracles for sale. Price: $15,000 and likely climbing.
Demand for the Grateful Dead's July 3-5 farewell shows at Chicago's Soldier Field has been so staggering that by the time the public Ticketmaster deal went down on Saturday morning, secondary market sites like StubHub were offering single tickets for $1,000 and up, with some three-day packages going for as much as $15,000.
