French Prime Minister seeks to expand surveillance powers after Paris attacks

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls presented new security measures to the French National Assembly on Tuesday, after a series of attacks in Paris last week in which suspected Islamist radicals murdered 17 victims


Valls said he wants to bolster anti-radicalization programs in French communities and prisons, better air travel monitoring of anyone suspected of radical activity, and greater ability for counterterrorism officials to monitor communications and parts of the Internet for extremist content.
