UK Debates Joining Fight Against ISIS

The British parliament is currently debating whether the country should join the fight against the Islamic State militant group.


Prime Minister David Cameron requested lawmakers approve his plan to join the United States and a growing number of allies in striking ISIS in Iraq, stressing that the "psychopathic, murderous, brutal" group "is not a threat on the far side of the world."



"Left unchecked, we will face a terrorist caliphate on the shores of the Mediterranean, bordering a NATO member, with a declared and proven determination to attack our country and our people," Cameron said, according to The New York Times .
